There can be no second opinion that a family life is the best life to lead. The man, the woman, and their children make a wonderful family. A loving couple can lead a happy and joyous married life with their children. However, the whole family set up is shaken when infidelity occurs in a family.

Infidelity is a breach of the trust and social rules accepted by a couple. It is usually understood to mean sexual infidelity in marriage. Other terms are adultery or cheating. No matter the term used, infidelity impacts the family in dangerous ways.

The effects of infidelity on family are indeed huge and miserable. Sometimes infidelity can completely ruin a family. When a husband or wife comes to know about the illegal affair of the partner he/she becomes angry and feels rejected by the partner. It is a great pain and agony to him/her. He /she find it very difficult to cope with the shock and disappointment.

The affected partner immediately wants to quit the relationship. Mostly he/she cannot forgive the cheating partner. Women try to forgive the cheating husbands if the husbands repent the mistakes and promise to quit the illegal affair. Some women cannot leave their husbands as they love them so much and they want to give their husbands another chance to live a faithful married life with them.

Often, the pain of infidelity spreads beyond the affected partner and impacts the entire family. The family unit may be broken up through separation or divorce, and innocent children must experience the painful process and needlessly suffer from the mistakes of their parents.

Peace within the family is often shattered due to infidelity. Arguments, fueled by high emotions, can sometimes escalate to assault. Children exposed to this type of environment experience deep emotional pain and a high level of insecurity when they see their parents fight.

Children are the innocent victims of infidelity. They wish only to live a peaceful life with their parents together under the same roof. The sudden event of a divorce or separation shatters the childrens’ emotional stability, leaving them feel insecure.

The effects of infidelity on family are very large. The husband and wife may start to live separately: children have to live with either the father or the mother. They will miss a parent and the love given by him/her. A life without both the parents is not a complete one for the children especially when they are young. The separation brings a bad name for the couple in the society as well.
