Stock Newsletter Is Worth Many Times Its Price

It has always been tricky to make money in the stock market, but the growth and improvement of internet technology has changed the face of the market, and the way people make stock picks. In the old days only a few dedicated traders and full time brokers had ‘ticker’ access, so most people could only watch stock performance from the next day’s paper. Nowadays, however, online access and software programs have made the ‘ticker’ accessible to a much wider audience, making stock tracking much easier.

Even the stock newsletter has changed. In the old days, a stock newsletter was mailed out and was at best several days behind when it arrived. Now, the newsletter is in your e-mail or on a website and may be updated many times each day. Some are free and some are subscriptions services for a fee. The cost doesn’t always guarantee quality, however.

A market investor or adviser obviously wants to identify the hot stocks that can make money quite fast, but it is just as important, if not more so, to have a safe base of stocks that do modestly well over the long hall. Disastrous corporate failures have shown that it’s never wise to have all of your holdings in one company or even in two or three but instead diversity spreads out the risk. An excellent stock newsletter can do some of the work for you in seeing the big picture and using tools an individual may not have.

A good newsletter can increase your knowledge and give you a lot of insight. And even mediocre newsletters will at the very least give you a broad overview of the market. Regardless of the newsletter quality, it is still not a substitute for your own research and advice from respected financial professionals.

What should a newsletter contain for the stock market maven? It should point out stocks that are making directional changes either up or down, summarize the market total performance, indicate industry trends, and also offer some “educated guesses” on future activity. A good newsletter will have retrospective analyses that reveal steady, reliable stocks, and volatile stocks with the potential for quick profit taking, or for taking a bath!

Look for newsletters that other reliable financial organizations and publications quote and refer to. If other industry leaders look to a particular newsletter, it is likely because their content is worthwhile. Don’t be afraid to ask for recommendations from your financial professionals and ask more experienced investors which publications they trust and use. Consider using wireless technology to deliver updates when available wherever you happen to be when movement occurs. Some newsletters provide instant wireless updates, so if you want this perk, look for a stock newsletter that offers this service.

It has always been tricky to make money in the stock market, but the growth and improvement of internet technology has changed the face of the market, and the way people make stock picks. Nowadays online access and software programs have made the ‘ticker’ accessible to a much wider audience. The goal of the market investor is to make money quick by recognizing hot stocks. However, investing in long term stocks are equally as important. To successfully understand the market, a stock newsletter is highly beneficial because it allows the investor to get a thorough understanding of the entire market.
