Wet and dry carpet cleaner combinations are not just for cleaning up the workshops anymore. The improvement in technology, over time, has removed the loud, ear tingling noises usually associated with carpet cleaners.

There are some details to be aware of before purchasing a wet and dry combination carpet cleaner. These vacuums come in several sizes and horsepower that range from six to twenty-two gallons and one and a half to ten and a half gallons. As you read further, you will know how to meet your basic needs by choosing the right capacity limit of the combination carpet cleaner.

The wall mount vacuum cleaner has one and a half horsepower and a one-gallon tank that is perfect to handle quick and easy spills. The wall mount vacuum is such a great choice because it can be hung on the wall and, therefore, is never in your way.

When you need something to handle more than just a little spill the next size up is a six-gallon vacuum cleaner, which are also very easy to handle and manoeuvre then the larger models. Unfortunately, the combination vacuum cleaners that are smaller are also louder and prone to falling over. Also, the smaller the tank the more times it has to be emptied.

Those of you with a garage or workshop may choose to purchase a higher capacity model because of the bigger spills that happen to occur. Also, with a large capacity tank it reduces the number of times that the tank has to be emptied.

The best combination carpet cleaner that you ultimately choose will be based on individual needs and the rooms where they will be. Consider the following features and options:

The Pleated Cartridge Filter - This filter can be rinsed and is reusable and provides more area for filtration than the flat filter does and it doesn’t have to be removed when you have to switch it from wet to dry vacuum function.

To prevent water from overflowing when the tank is full, the newer carpet cleaners now come with an automatic shut off device that turns the vacuum off when it detects that the water has reached the capacity within the tank.

Wide set wheels are important because they help to keep the vacuum cleaner balanced so that it doesn’t tip over. If you have a big front and/or backyard, some models of the larger carpet cleaners can be converted into a leaf blower too.
