Being a Better You Today

If happiness comes from within, then why does it seem so difficult for so many people to find contentment with themselves? Often times it is because they have been conditioned over time to believe in the negative image they have of themselves. Poor self esteem and personal insecurities haunt many people. Self concept or self identity comes from persistent assessment of ones self, however, too many times this assessment is based on the false perceptions and distorted images. Over time, the distorted image becomes reality.

There are other times in our lives when a fear of the unknown can take hold of us and push us into the realm of self doubt. The fear of failing, not becoming what we once dreamed we would and not attaining success all wreak havoc on the minds eye. When reading this sort of thought, it may sound preposterous, but it is a very real situation for many women.

These self-doubts, self-esteem issues and fears of failure may be the simple three road blocks between your happiness and you. Look closely at your thoughts and beliefs, find out what you need to do to change the path of your life and be honest with yourself about the true causes of your unhappiness. A healthy self image may just be born out of this knowledge.

Improving one self needs to incorporate a mental, physical and emotionally sound life. Asking yourself some of the hardest question can often open up those mental blocks between you and happiness. What areas of your life make you the most unhappy? What areas in life do you wish were different? What areas in your life need the greatest change to meet your definition of success? Is that definition one that can be attained in reality?

Physical self improvement is usually easy to identify but difficult to achieve. While some self-improvement requires you to undergo a physical transformation (like loosing or gaining weight), other require you to simply accept the body you have-and often that is the more difficult task. When we condition ourselves to believe in a set standard of beauty for which we ourselves do not fit, it makes self-acceptance a trying task. However, it is a necessary task in order to achieve happiness.

The emotional aspects of happiness are a bit more difficult to change and require careful time and attention to the details of our past, present and future. Our lives are rooted in the emotional fractures that have created the psyche was now possess. Releasing the hold these fractures have on our present day lives is needed to fulfill our destination of happiness.

The changes needed in our mental state are often those that run concurrently with the emotional changes. Mentally we judge ourselves based on expectations only we understand. If we never achieve those goals we create a negative self image that will wreak havoc on our chances of happiness. Removing all boundaries and definitions of success will greatly improve our chances of happiness.

Life without balance and self-esteem will be life without happiness. The happiness we want and desire is rooted in our need to be better that we are right now and better than everyone else around us. Without a doubt, once we refocus our lives on the things that matter the most, our bodies, our hearts and our minds, the rest will fall into place an happiness will be achieved.

by A Helpful Guide to Online Birthday Cards

Birthday cards can be funny, moving, deep, made for children, or any combination; birthday cards come in many different shapes and sizes. Cards can also be fairly cheap; if you are living on a budget, then you can buy your cards from a major discount shopping center, the most famous being Walmart. If your budget allows for something flashier, specialty stores such as Hallmark are a good alternative.

Whether searching for a single card in bulk or many different cards, online is a great way to shop for birthday cards and many can be purchased in print format. You can also use online stores to send cards electronically via email; many websites allow you to add a custom message to your e-card. You can also send musical and animated versions; while some of these services are free, many of them require registration however. Also consider ordering and with your online e-card to make their day even more special.

One thing that is becoming very common is hand made birthday cards; you can find these at flea markets and craft shops. Another place to buy them is wholesale clubs like Sam’s Club or Costco. You may think that handmade cards are expensive, but really they can be quite reasonable. Usually coming boxed these cards retail for a low of ten to a high of thirty dollars.

Whether searching for a children’s birthday card at age one or at age eighteen, the variety of birthday cards makes certain you will find one that matches your needs. Cards are also available for landmark ages; these ages include 21, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, and 80. It is a rare achievement to live past the age of 80, and cards celebrating those ages will likely have to be special ordered.

Many people give messages with the theme of ‘over the hill,’ and many more enjoy the idea of themed cards. “You’re a national treasure…unfortunately the government has failed to allocate funds to your maintenance” was the message of my father’s over the hill birthday card, for instance. Older men have an especially difficult time dealing with aging, and their entire day can be made better by the right humorous ‘over the hill card.

Some markets of birthday cards focus on a suggestive theme - either through the promotion of alcohol or romantic content - while others offer crude gestures, and still others focus on the younger generation as their target. For the very young set, Disney cards are a popular choice and can be found in themes relating to Disney Princesses, Cars, Aladdin, and other Disney standards. Often, Disney cards are not only fun to read, but to play with as well, as they are feature pop-up features and musical cards. The best way to learn about birthday cards is to visit the card isle at any department store, discount store, or Hallmark store.

How to finally succeed in making money online

by Tony Hetherington

The only way to get success in the online world is to create a plan or blueprint or have one given to you. Then have the commitment, drive and ambition to take the necessary action to follow it through. It doesn’t matter if you’re selling your own ebooks, widgets or work as an affiliate for someone else you have to follow a route map to success and follow it through to the end.

It really is that simple and yet so many still fail. They falter slightly or don’t get the instant success that they crave and they give up! So many of us seem locked in this cycle and will give up and buy new guru offers time and time again. So where does it go wrong?

We get distracted - We’re far too easily distracted. It’s hard to admit but it’s true. We buy a new ebook or course and think that this is our path to riches. Then a few days later our mailbox gets swamped with the next great offer and we succumb to it. The former path to glory now lies in ruins and will gather cyber dust with the others that we’ve bought and forgotten. Gurus and their affiliates are quite within their rights to offer you the next big thing - and they’d rather you’d buy that then focus. Look for someone committed to your future not your wallet.

We get information overload - then want more - Information overload is the insatiable hunger for more training and the latest product. We buy, we devour then we seem to forget all we’ve read and hunt for our next information meal.

It’s too easy to quit - When the going gets tough the tough give up according to those trying to make a living online. I think it’s a psychological problem that we don’t actually beleive that online success is possible and therefore take the slightest failure such as the lack of traffic after a single article as proof of this negative thought. If we were given not only a blueprint but also step-by-step instructions backed up by support that we could beleive in then our chances of success would be greatly improved.

We don’t take action - There are those who plan and pontificate and never ever take action. Taking action is the single attribute that differentiates those that succeed from those that fail. If you aren’t prepared to invest the time and effort then you can’t succeed. They are destined to fall for scam after scam such as those wonderful lotteries that produce winners even though you haven’t entered them!

Stop! It’s not your fault! Everything you’ve been told about affiliate marketing and making money online is wrong! It’s time to put the cons and scams behind you and take control of your online future.

The route to succes is actually surprisingly simple.

1. Choose a path or a product - I’m going to recommend a method below but if that doesn’t appeal then find something that does.

2. Read it through twice. The second time take notes of what steps you need to take and what else you need.

3. Create a detailed task list. Break the plan down further into a task list with everything that you need to do.

4. There are many different approaches you can now take. Either start at the top of the list, start with some easy tasks or tackle them in a mixture of the other two. The important thing is that you keep going and get those tasks crossed off.

5. Whenever you have a little time choose and do a task.

6. Just keep going and then have a big push to finish the list.

7. Make sure you celebrate those landmarks such as the first sign up to an autoresponder and that first sale.

Digital Photography: Take Photos and Print Them In a Snap

August 4, 2008 on 3:40 am | In Family | No Comments
by Bob Dale

For thousands of years, man has been capturing images. Before the camera was invented, man captured images through drawings and paintings. Often, the images were based on the interpretations and skill of painters, so the resulting images were not always exact. Minneapolis photographer Bob Dale says “With the invention of the camera we are now able to capture life-like view of subjects through photographs and has been the basis of documenting our lives for the past 150 years. The camera was a very important invention.”

Photographs (or photo for short) are images that are created as a result of light falling on photographic film or electronic imager such as a CCD or CMOS chip. Photography is the term used to refer to the process of making photographs. Of course, a camera is needed to create a photo.

Photos can be digital or non-digital. Film cameras produce non-digital photos. To print these photos, the film is processed in a dark room.

Digital photos are photos taken with a digital camera, which uses a memory card or some other storage device instead of film for storing pictures. Digital photos come in different graphic formats (e.g., TIFF, JPEG, RAW). Digital pictures can be printed straight from the digital camera or transferred to a computer that is connected to a printer (e.g., inkjet, laser or thermal).

As digital cameras became more advanced and more affordable, more and more people have found themselves being able to realize their dream of becoming a photographer. The digital cameras today are extremely easy to use and allow for taking hundreds of photos without the need for film.

Digital cameras have also become affordable. In fact, there are digital cameras that can be had for under $100. And as digital technology advances, more powerful digital cameras are being introduced in the market. “Even our cell phone like the Apple Ipod have become our cameras AND our display device” says professional digital photographer Bob Dale.

It’s a good idea to learn some of the basic methods and techniques of photo composition. But even if you’re the point-and-click type of photographer, a quality digital camera can help you create some great looking shots.

Canon, Nikon and Fuji are three of the top names in the digital camera market. If you want to be able to take great photos, you can accomplish just that by using any of these digital cameras: Canon EOS series (e.g., Canon EOS 5D, Canon EOS 30D and Canon EOS 40D), Nikon D80 and Fuji S5.

Looking for a quality digital camera? Go with Canon, who is setting the standard for digital photography with its Canon EOS series of digital cameras. The Canon EOS series of digital cameras are considered among the best digital SLRs that’s ideal for both amateur photographer and professional photographers.

The digital cameras in the Canon EOS series are professional grade cameras capable of taking impressive digital photos. These cameras use Canon’s 10.1 megapixel CMOS technology. If you’re looking for a high-end digital camera, start with these digital cameras.

The Nikon D80 digital SLR camera is a highly-rated digital camera that is capable of taking photographs that are of professional quality. The Nikon D80 boasts of 10.2 megapixel CCD imaging sensor, a 2.5-inch LCD screen and several other features that will allow you to do a number of in-camera photo editing. The Nikon D80 costs between $700 and $900, which makes this digital camera the ideal choice for photography enthusiasts who either can’t afford the more expensive, professional grade cameras or are first-time users of SLR cameras.

Planning on taking your photography hobby to the next level? If you are, invest in the Nikon D300; you can’t go wrong with this top of the line digital SLR camera. Starting at $1,700, the Nikon D300 has a live viewing feature: you can preview your shots on the huge LCD screen.

Finally, the Fuji S5 comes in several models. The Fuji S5 Pro model is ideal for those who are struggling with their photography skills as this digital camera comes with auto correcting features. This digital SLR camera features 12.3 megapixels CCD SR Pro technology, three new film simulation modes for improved reproduction of natural skin tones, and facial detection technology that allows you to quickly and easily zoom in on facial details. The Fuji S5 Pro has a price tag of around $1,500.

With digital cameras, it’s extremely easy to print and share photos with others. You can seamlessly transfer your photos from your digital camera to your computer, e-mail those photos to people in your address book, and even upload them on FaceBook, Flickr, MySpace and other photo sharing websites that give you web space for your own online photo gallery.

You can take it a step further by using software to create slide shows from the digital photos you’ve taken and burning them in CDs that you can distribute to your loved ones and friends. And if you’re the creative type, you can use stock photography and use them with your photos. With a photo editing software, you can create unique and interesting photos.

With the help of your digital camera, photo editing software, some stock photos and a good dose of creativity, you’ll discover soon enough that there’s no limit to your photographic expressions. There are digital cameras that let you do minor editing, like correcting lighting, red eye and flesh tones, and there are portable printers that let you print your photos directly from your camera.

With digital photography, anyone can become a photographer. You don’t need to know the complicated process of developing photos. Just aim your digital camera, press the shoot button and print your photos in a snap. It’s that quick and easy.

by David Gates

In these hard economic times, many of us are looking for a way to make extra money. You’ve thought about that entire inventory of items you have that you’ve purchased during better times. How can you convert them into extra cash? You can start a home business on eBay. But first, let me tell you that you are going to \”graduate\” on to a much better way of making money with eBay. I’ll tell you about that in a minute.

Most people hear this and are tempted to jump right in with both feet. However, make sure you take the time to appraise your inventory. You may search your house and find outgrown clothes, designer shoes, or high-tech gadgets. Researching how and where your items will best sell is crucial to amplify your income. Spend time finding the right information before you start selling if you really want it to work.

Start by looking up your items by the item name or brand name in the search bar at eBay. You can scan over how much people are willing to pay for your items and get an idea of how much to list them for. Your jaw may drop when you see how much people are willing to pay for your useless junk.

Popular search engines can also provide invaluable information regarding your inventory. Keep track of information such as how much to pay for an item, how to prove your item is real, and where to buy wholesale items for less than you can sell them for on eBay.

I’ve heard it said that resellers make their profit when they buy the item, not when they sell it. You may have a great source of inventory lurking in your closets right now, but it won’t last forever. So take the time to research wholesale sources before you need them. You can make an Internet home business work, but you have to start with the right information.

Consider each listing of your personal items a practice run. Take time to research the best way to make money off of your inventory. Use what you see successful sellers do to help you create listing descriptions and starting prices. Let every failure be a learning lesson of what not to do in the future.

Research and practice may reveal that traditional Internet auctions are not your thing. You may hate your daily trips to the post office or be tired of tripping over the inventory strewn throughout your house. If that describes you, consider using one of many companies that will help you create a website and drop ship the items you sell from their warehouse. You can also sell information items over and over again. EBay is capable of automatically listing a new auction after one of you information items sells. You can sit and watch your bank account grow with this wonderful method of making money on eBay.

These difficult times can bring out the creativity in all of us. They can lead us down career paths we never considered. Whatever you decide to do just remember, You can make an Internet home business work, but you have to start with the right information.
