Yoga is a fantastic way to improve your fitness and health. It is a Great way to exercise and to get into your desired shape, if you do it on a regular basis. It’s possible to do yoga without getting any equipment, but it’s recommended that you get the things you need to keep you from injury.

Yoga Mats - If you exercise on a slippery surface and you slide around a lot then getting yoga mats could be very helpful. They provide the grip you need to keep from sliding and the grip to keep you balanced in the positions you do. Mats can be pricey depending on the type, but an average one will cost near $25.

Straps - When you are a beginner or already a few years into yoga, straps can help raise you to your desired flexibility. They allow you to gain length so that you are able to get to the parts of your body that you were able to reach in the past. Also depending on the strap type, and length, is how much you are going to pay for them. A decent strap will cost between $10-15.

If you wish to exercise more comfortable and give your neck, back, stomach, and knees more support, then you are probably looking for a bolster. They will help extend your stretching limits and provide the extra comfort you are needing. Depending on the size and type of the bolster you get, they will cost you around $50.

A very important and helpful piece of equipment in yoga, are yoga ropes. They’ll help with support for an aching back, and also provide for better stretching. They also give support for not only your back, but all the major muscles in your body. Mainly dealing with arm stretches, forward bends, and back bends, yoga ropes are highly recommended for all exercisers. They come in sets, and will cost you anywhere from $90-200.

Your hands are used in just about all of your exercises, and with that being said you probably know that it can cause much wrist and other arm strains. Grips help by giving your wrist support and give you a variety of more exercises to do. They are recommended for those who use their hands more, but they are fairly cheap for what they do, costing around $40.

Any type of yoga equipment will be helpful to your exercises and stretching. Most equipment will help you from getting injured and keeping you from not being able to do yoga. DVD’s and CD’s are also important and can give you more information about the types of exercise and also show you how to do more to improve your fitness and health.

Funding for Tubal Reversal - How to Get the Money

June 11, 2008 on 4:03 am | In Finance | No Comments
by Sandra Wilson

If you have decided that you want your tubes untied to either have another child or for relief of post tubal ligation syndrome, then funding for tubal reversal becomes one of your major considerations. With tubal reversals being in the thousands and tens of thousands of dollars, most women cannot afford to pay the costs out of pocket.

Among the fees that will have to be paid to have the surgery are the post-op tests, the surgeon’s fees, the surgical facility fees, the staff including the anesthesiologist and any needed travel expenses if doing the surgery out of town in order to get the best doctor. In this article we have included a few different ways to try to come up with the cash needed to get the job done.

First is the good old saving for a rainy day. You simply begin to put the extra money you have every month aside in a savings account. I would go so far as to even suggest a savings account just for the purpose of saving for this procedure. If you mix it up into your regular savings account, you just might “accidentally” spend in on whatever comes up. If you don’t have extra or think you don’t, then it’s time to look into the various budget cutting and controlling methods that abound on the web. Do you really need cable TV or that extra latte every day?

A variation or addition to the first method is to get a job. This could be a second job if you work now or a regular job if you don’t work now. Take as much of this as you possibly can and add it to your savings. If you are making ends meet now without it, then you should be able to put most of it away into your special fund.

The next method of funding for tubal reversal is a payment plan. This will be set up with your surgeon, or more precisely his office. You will have to find out if this is available to you from your surgeon. If you choose world renown Dr. Gary S. Berger to do your surgery, you will find that this option is available. Simply contact his office to get further details on how this will work.

Some women use their family’s income tax refund to pay for the tubal reversal surgery. Depending upon your personal situation, you might have to wait a few years if just depending upon a tax refund. This is why some will use their tax refund to supplement their savings plan.

Usually the first place you will look for funding for tubal reversal is your health insurance provider. However, most will not cover this type of elective procedure though some may cover some of the initial testing. I hate to say it, but it all depends. It will really take a call to your company to get the real scoop and even then two different people there may tell you two opposite answers. If you do get someone to tell you a tubal reversal is covered, then get it in writing. You don’t want to be surprised after the surgery and find you have to pay it all with no reimbursement.

As this is an elective procedure you probably won’t get insurance coverage for it. But there just might be a way around it. You could try having your primary care physician state in writing that you need to have your tubes repaired. This might work if your reason for a tubal ligation reversal is due to post tubal ligation syndrome and your doctor is willing to help you. Repair work on your tubes, rather than a tubal reversal, might just be the secret words. Then again, if your insurance has a cap on how much you have to pay toward your health expenses, it might pick up whatever amount over that cap the surgery puts you. These are by no means sure methods, but they just might work.

Lacking health insurance to pay for the tubal ligation reversal, you might be lucky enough to have a flexible spending account for health at your or your husband’s employment. Some of these will allow you to take out the full amount in advance. You’ll just have to see what the particulars are during your enrollment season. As the amount you pay into the flex spending account is pulled from the paycheck before you ever see it, you most likely won’t even notice it.

Something else that may be available through your employment is taking out your 401(k) or an IRA. You know you will pay a penalty and there is the further penalty of that money now not working to build your retirement. You have to decide if withdrawing this money is more important to your family.

The last method we will mention is simply using your credit card. You can ask if your surgeon will accept a credit card and hope he takes yours. You could get a cash advance. Some credit cards offer special deals on cash advances to get you to apply for their card. Others charge very high interest rates. Be sure to know what you are getting into there.

I hope these ideas above will give you some food for thought to decide on your funding for tubal reversal. Discuss this with your husband or significant other to decide which will best fit your situation. Some are slow and some will get you there faster. Good luck.

Solar Energy : Power for the Future

Just imagine if there is a way for you could help to reduce pollution and at the same time save money on your electric bills. Here is a really simple way for that to happen, installing solar energy panels at the comfort of your own home. I am sure that you have heard about solar energy but how much do you know about it?

Have the thought of using solar energy ever come across your mind? Have you ever wondered if solar energy is right for you? Before you make any decisions, let’s take a look at the advantages and disadvantages of solar energy. After reading this article, you could then decide if solar energy is right for you.

On a long term basis, solar energy can save you a lot of money. All you have to do is to pay the initial investment and from there on the energy from the sun is absolutely free. The duration for this investment can be very short depending on the usage of electricity you and your family use. Added to that, the government provides financial incentives that will reduce your cost.

If you are concern about the global warming and the harmful effects of the environment, solar energy is just for you because it is environmentally friendly. Solar energy is clean, renewable and sustainable in helping to protect our environment as it does not pollute our air by releasing harmful gases like many traditional forms of electrical generators does. It actively contributes to the decrease of harmful green house gas emissions.

Solar energy system is virtually maintenance free and because of this it will last even to decades. There are no recurring costs needed after you install the system. It works silently, does not gives out any smell and it certainly does not require you to add any fuel. You can even add more solar panels easily in the future when your family grows.

However, solar panels require quite a large area for installation to achieve a good level of efficiency. The efficiency of the system also relies on the location of the sun although this problem can be overcome with the installation of certain components. The production of solar energy is influence by the presence of clouds or pollution in the air as well.

Although there will be no solar energy produced during the night, there are batteries bases systems or a net metering will help you settle this issue. Installing net metering could save you on electric and money. For one thing, solar powered cars are not highly fancied due to the fact that it does not move as fast as it desired.

Make no mistake about it solar energy could benefit you and your love ones in many ways that you could have possibly have ever imagine. If you weigh the benefits of solar energy on a long term basis against short term basis, the long term basis will certainly outweigh the short term basis making it all the more worthwhile. You would not only help to save money on your monthly electric bill but also helping to save the environment.

Parties, Kids and Cinco de Mayo - a Great Combination

June 11, 2008 on 3:51 am | In Family | No Comments
by Martin R. Williams

Cinco de Mayo is a great time to have a kid’s party — not only is it a lot of fun, but a great way to teach. This holiday isn’t one made up by the greeting card companies, its a celebration of history. On May fifth in 1862, Mexico and the United States worked together to help Mexico get a victory against the French.

Don’t forget the decorations for a great party

It’s essential to have great decorations for your party. Try finding lots of streamers and balloons in the colors of the Mexican flag–and incorporate at least one actual flag, while you’re at it. The number five should also be prominently displayed.

A good craft always makes a party more fun. One idea is to make sombreros with paper cups and plates. Show the children how to glue the cup in the middle of the plate, and set out decorations like pom-poms or string that they can use to dress up their hats any way they like.

Make Some Maracas

Another use of paper cups is to make maracas. All the children need to do is fill one cup with beans or other items that will clack together. Then just tape another cup on top of the first one (with both open ends facing together so that the items can slide between the two cups).

Make It About Mexico With a Difference

Most children’s party games could easily be turned into a fun Cinco de Mayo game with a little imagination. The ordinary can be turned into the extraordinary with just a few small twists.

Giving a children’s party a south-of-the-border twist can be simple and fun. Rather than a game of “Pin the Tail on the Donkey”, why not play a game of “Pin the Metal on Benito Juarez, the Mexican resistance leader. Mariachi music makes musical chairs a Mexican experience, and even Pictionary takes a Mexican turn if you use Spanish words. If the children don’t know enough Spanish, acquaint them with Mexican culture by offering tacos to eat, or sombreros to wear.

Learn Some Folk Dancing

Another great activity idea is to bring in Mexican folk dancers that could show the kids how to perform a dance. To create an even more authentic atmosphere, why not provide skirts for the girls and hats for the boys? The dancers will not only provide a good time, but will also teach the children about some aspects of Mexican heritage.

Sometimes Simple Is Better

Don’t forget that all the children will remember was the fun that was had, and not how much time and effort was put into creating the fun for them. Don’t make it too difficult, don’t let it stall, and whatever you do, don’t forget about snacks! Then you will have created the perfect Cinco de Mayo celebration for children.

All You Want Is Your First Guitar

June 11, 2008 on 3:50 am | In Family | No Comments
by Pamela Johnson

When it comes to finding an acoustic beginner guitar, there are many things to consider. It may actually be worth spending enough money for a high quality guitar, if you have it. The ease with which the guitar plays and the sound it makes really is related to the quality and price.

If you’re looking for a high-end acoustic beginner guitar, an excellent choice is the Seagull S6, costing about $400-$500. It may be more expensive than what most beginners are prepared to pay, but it is an exceptional guitar for the price. Even professionals often keep their Seagull S6 after they’ve purchased many other guitars. Another good high-end acoustic beginner guitar is the Washburn D10S. Acoustic Guitar magazine voted it #1 for guitars under $500. Most people looking in this price range will end up choosing the Washburn or the Seagull.

The Yamaha F310, Takamine G-240 and Fender DG7 are all good choices for the beginner. But in terms of price, the most affordable for the beginner is the Epiphone DR-100. Once you gain more experience you will want to trade up, but it’s a great acoustic beginner guitar at $120-$150.

When you are looking for your first guitar, avoid the very cheap ones. These are actually harder to play and can be hard for even an experienced player. A cheaper made acoustic beginner guitar is just not made well and usually have really high action, meaning there is more space between the strings and the fingerboard than the more expensive guitars. This can make a beginner just give up.

If your budget is less than $100, you are better off with a second-hand acoustic beginner guitar. If you see two of the same guitar, try playing both of them. Doing this will tell you the personality of the guitar, which might also tell you a little about the personality of the previous owner.

Ever hear the saying, “never buy a guitar from a jerk”? Whether a guitar picks up a “personality” from it’s owner is a point to be debated, however most guitar owners treat their instruments like people. So when you look for your first acoustic beginner guitar keep this in mind. Pay attention to the guitar’s “vibe”, and even if it sounds great, but doesn’t feel right somehow, pass on it.

When you are buying your first acoustic beginner guitar you should ask the salesperson to play it for you. The person selling the guitar shoud understand you can not yet play the instrument but want to hear what it will sound like when you can. You never know, maybe they are helping the next great guitar player to buy their first instrument.

How To Choose A Whole House Air Purifier

by Ray Lam

Whole house air purifiers can bring a whole new environment to your entire home. While single room purifiers can effectively clean the air within a specific location in your home, many families desire the same standard of cleanliness all around their home. Whether you have allergy sufferers in your family who’d like to sit comfortably in any room in the house, or simply want that whole house freshness, then whole house air purifiers might be for you.

A whole house air purifier operates by connecting it with your household air duct system, allowing the air flow from the entire building to be processed by the one whole house air cleaner. The same technologies employed in single room air purifiers are used here, so you can choose from HEPA, electronic or other systems, as best suits the purification needs of your family. Whether you are looking for an allergy relief air purifier, or a UV system to blast those micro-bugs, there is a whole house air purifier ready to meet your needs.

A whole house air purifier as it applies to radon is set up in your basement or crawl space. A fan vents the radon-rich air out from the basement or crawl space floor. Metal ducts pump the air from the fan of the air purifier inside the basement or crawl space into the outside air. Sealing up cracks and any gaps where air can get in will practically eliminate any radon threat.

Other air purifiers can also remove radon from inside your home. They can remove radon from upper floors. These air purifier systems can have an optional filter installed that remove the radon gas and clean the air of other contaminants. If you have a problem with dust, mold, or mildew, these whole house air purifier systems can eliminate those problems while also protecting you from radon.

Granted, the price of whole house air purifiers can be twice or three times the cost of single room air purifiers. If one single air purifier unit is not controlling your dust, dander, and pollen issue, however, you may need to look into whole house air purifiers. No single air purifier unit will control radon. If radon is your issue, whole house air purifiers become necessary! You may think a whole house air purifiers costs a lot of money. In fact, they are expensive, but not as expensive as you are thinking. For around a thousand dollars, you can have a reliable air purifier system. You can breathe the air in your home without fear. No cancer, no deteriorating lung tissue.

Auto Loan Refinance Rates - Refinance Your Car Loan And Save

June 11, 2008 on 3:26 am | In Finance | No Comments
by Ancellin Marshall

Auto loan refinance rates and whether or not to refinance your car loan is a hot topic and may be something you are considering. Nobody likes to pay high interest rates regardless of how rich or poor you are and how nice or beat up your car is. While auto loans are certainly among the top debt obligations many households face, it is vital you consider whether or not you truly will benefit from refinancing your auto loan.

Auto loan refinance rates should be lower than your original loan. In essence you are exchanging a new car loan for a used car loan and there is difference of around 1 percent between the two with used car loan rates being higher. It is this difference that can cancel out some of the benefit of lower interest rates depending on your situation

First, to determine if auto loan refinancing fits your needs, you must do a review of your current auto loan. Look to ensure that pre-payment of the loan will not cause you to be penalized and assessed any fees. Then determine if the contract calculated the bulk of the interest on the loan to be collected in the first half of the loans terms.

There are several web sites and links online that can help you calculate auto loan refinance rates. Bankrate is one such site that can help you determine how the interest on your loan is computed. In addition to this, you can also shop different rates on sites like HSBC to find the best deal for you.

If you are going to refinance auto loans, you want to accomplish two things. First, you want to reduce the interest rates greatly. Second, you do not want to stretch the terms of the loan beyond the current repayment schedule. If you fail to do either of the two, you probably do not want to refinance your auto loan.

Another thing to consider is any damage your credit has encountered since the loan’s inception. This can negatively affect the interest rate you get on the auto loan refinance rate. Instead of benefiting from the refinance, the higher interest rate can actually hurt you and increase your auto loan. The last thing you want to do is hurt yourself and have to pay more than you already were.

There are pros and cons to refinancing. You will be wise to carefully research this option or you could find yourself paying more instead of less for the loan. The things listed in this article are a good guide to help determine if its right for you. Ultimately following them will allow you to refinance your car loan with better interest rates and payments.

I Hate Cat Training…and Other Daily Irritants

June 11, 2008 on 3:13 am | In Family | No Comments
by TJ Lashley

Can you train a cat in ten minutes? Not hardly! Should your cat go to obedience school? Save your dollars; it is not necessary. You can be all that your cat needs to learn socially acceptable behavior.

If you want a well behaved cat, then the first step to consistent training. Proper cat care depends on your consistency. How does cat training in 10 minutes sound? Like a pack of lies! If you think that just spending a few minutes a day with your cat will yield the results you are looking for, then you are in for some heart break!

While cat training in ten minutes sounds good a great marketing sales pitch, you must simply realize that proper cat behavior is a result of owner consistency and reinforcement. But no worries, there are many training aids that can help to make your job easier and more enjoyable.

One of the training aids that nearly every owner purchases is a well constructed litter tray. Cats are meticulously clean and want their potty area to be clean as well. Litter boxes help to keep the kitty poo in the proper location and not all over your home. If you are really passionate about a clean house, then you might even consider tackling toilet training your cat. Seriously, it can be done!

Cat grass is a fabulous invention. Since cats are such curious creatures and they love to chew and chomp, having cat grass available will allow them to enjoy a plant of their very own.

Just like most humans, cats love to nest and so they need a place to do so. Most cats enjoy going to lofty spots in order to over look their kingdom. In order to keep them from tromping all over your furniture, create a nesting spot dedicated soley to your feline baby. Cat trees or cat condos are a great example of cat nesting spots. When the area is brand new, you might consider rubbing the spot with a cat treat in order to transfer the yummy smell which should entice your cat to move on in.

Obviously, this is not all of the cat training aids there are available. Treats offer a fun way of positive reinforcement, yarn and balls are good for exercise, a toy mouse on a stick…there are tons! Most importantly tolerance and consistency are still two crucial parts of cat training (even with aids). Plus remember, this is not a form of “cat training in ten minutes”.

Cat training in ten minutes simply does not exist. Cats, like many animals, will require training to be incorporated into their daily lives in order for it to work. But don’t be detered, cat training is certainly worth all the time you put into it.
