Cartridge Rolls For Deburring

Cartridge rolls are among the several types of deburring tools. They are often manufactured by wrapping abrasive cloth materials to specific-sized mandrel. There are many kinds of deburring catridge rolls. They include silicon carbide grain, aluminum oxide grain, or alumina grain. They are mostly configured for deburring, blending, polishing and deflashing. In most cases, fresh abrasive grain is on the outer layer of the cartridge. Such rolls are available in different lengths and sizes.

Designed to be durable and virtually indestructible, cartridge rolls can be straight, half-taper, full taper and sidewall. Effective in removing edge breaking and machine tool marks, such rolls are often connected to a hand-held deburring tool.

Generally, deburring is a finishing process used mostly in manufacturing and industrial settings. Parts and materials with burrs are smooth off. Burrs are protrusions, chips, shavings, nicks and other unwanted particles. They are mostly found on metal, plastic and wood surfaces. They are not considered to be parts of the original body. They need to be removed or smooth out to maintain product quality. It is also essential to obtain better functionality, appearance and better operations of the parts.

Deburring may be accomplished by one of several methods. Abrasive substances may be applied, or abrasive cloths may be used to rub the metal in order to remove thin shavings and small notches, as well as to polish the piece (hand deburring). In other cases, sanding may be necessary, even if it means rigorous sanding with a machine for more troublesome deformities (semiautomatic deburring, abrasive flow machining, thermal energy method, and so on). Among all the types, semiautomatic deburring and hand deburring are the only ones that use cartridge rolls; repetitive filing or use of a grinder to smooth away nicks and fragments are key in cartridge roll deburring.

The use of cartridge rolls may take extra effort on your part, compared to using other tools. Then again, it’s the best tool to be used when controlled or steady deburring is need, or else the part or material will be thrown, which can cause you injury or worse. Keep in mind, always use fresh rolls after every deburring, because they have a tendency to wear out.

Themes and Baby Shower Decorations Make Your Event Perfect

Want to plan a baby shower, but without all the stress? Using a few tips from this article, and a bit of help from friends & family will make all the difference.

A baby shower is a gift to the ‘mother to be’, and a wonderful way to express your feelings toward her. This event can help the new parents prepare for the changes about to occur.

There are three helpful guidelines to assist you in planning the perfect baby shower. Firth, select a theme. Second, develop a checklist for your tasks. Finally, find some help!

Baby shower themes can be easily found by searching online at various baby shower decoration and party supply stores. These stores stock patterns and themes from various manufacturers. The theme can become the foundation for your event, helping you and your guest by creating the perfect environment for your shower.

How do you select the perfect theme? Think about the guest of honor. Is she expecting a boy or girl? Maybe twins are in the future. What is her personality? Will the “dads” be attending? Select a theme that you think best captures the spirit of the mom.

With your theme selected, you can now create your task list for the baby shower. Starting around 45 days in advance, you might want to select a location, and date for the event. You should also start finalizing you guest list. Figure out how much money you want to spend, so you can invest wisely in invitations, favors, catering, a cake and such. There are some great planning tools available online at some of the online baby shower suppliers.

I recommend you next give thought to what you will serve, who will attend, and how you plan to entertain the guests. This is the best time to get family and friends to help you - everyone loves to help out at a shower. The host can easily delegate tasks such as working with the bakery or caterer. Make sure everyone knows about any diet issues, money limits, and the time requirements.

30 - 35 days ahead of your event, buy your invitations. Most invitations are available with matching decorations and tableware in a theme. You can buy stock, or custom printed baby shower invitations that match your theme, and get your decorations at the same time.

25 - 30 days before the big day, make sure all your baby shower party supplies are ordered so you have enough time for them to be delivered. Put your invitations in the mail, and start getting people lined up for help. Farm out the small projects to people who want to help.

Three weeks from the event, follow-up on all the activities you’ve asked for help from others. Make sure everything is done well in advance so that if anyone has questions, or has had something come up that causes them not to be able to complete their task, you can graciously take care of it.

Around two weeks before the event is a good time to order your cake, and purchase any non-perishable food items. This is also a good time to finalize any activities or games, and review your check list for any items that still need to be purchased.

The week of the event, prepare in advance any food that can frozen. Confirm the attendee list to make sure you know the RSVP status of the invitees. Follow-up with everyone who is helping out to make sure they have everything under control.

48 hours in advance is crunch time. Make sure your furniture is arranged, and the venue is cleaned.

The day before is the perfect time to get the decorations set-up (except for the balloons). Arranging all the paper goods, centerpieces, banners, and other decorations in advance allows you to focus on having fun the day of the event. Prepare any food that can be stored overnight, pick-up the cake, and chill any beverages or prepared foods that need to be served cold.

On the day of the shower itself, purchase your fresh flowers, fill your balloons with helium, prepare any remaining food items, and take pictures of everything BEFORE the guests arrive so you and the guest of honor can remember everything in it’s perfect form. Take full advantage of your helpers by getting them to run errands that need to be run (such as getting balloons filled, or picking up catering items.)

Lastly, have FUN!

What you should know about Alzheimers disease

April 2, 2008 on 5:23 am | In Family | No Comments
by Kay Brown

Of all the different types of dementia that affect the elderly, it is Alzheimer’s disease which causes the most concern; other types of dementia include Parkinson’s disease and Huntingdon’s - which isn’t entirely restricted to the elderly. If you spent time with a person with Alzheimer’s disease, you will see a gradual decay in their ability to remember.

The problem in the past has been the accuracy of diagnosis which has gradually improved and is now up to 94 percent accurate. Discovered in 1906 by German physician Alois Alzheimer, the world’s focus on this disease is only about 30 years old; even though it has been scientifically studied for many years, knowledge surrounding this disease is minimal.

Studies show that your greatest risk of acquiring Alzheimer’s is advancing age. Unfortunately, the person experiencing the early symptoms of Alzheimer’s will know something is wrong but won’t admit it to others or even to themselves; to make matters worse, this situation creates a delay in the person and family learning what is wrong. Given this it there is often a delay in understanding or taking an appropriate course of action.

Alzheimer’s disease is currently treated exactly the same as other forms of dementia. Despite the studies, there is no permanent treatment for the condition but there are a number of drugs which can help with the condition. The three main medications currently approved for treatments of Alzheimer’s disease are: Donepezil, Tacrine, and Rivastigmine; all of these have been shown to improve the cognition by about half a year.

A new drug, Memantine is helping to slow down the mental decline during the later phases and is similar to the anti-influenza treatment Amantadine; patients with mild to severe Alzheimer’s who are already receiving Donepezil are now given Memantine as an alternative. Memantine is the first medicine to show such positive results with sufferers with few problems associated with its use; as 80 percent of the drug is passed in urine unchanged there is very little left to cause any harm.

Because people are living longer Alzheimer’s disease has become a serious health problem that governments must face; in the United States it is fourth in the list of fatal diseases. There is also an economic aspect of caring for patients to consider, something that will affect governments everywhere; with a current figure for medical treatment and care at 40 billion dollars a year.

This is destined to create financial problems everywhere, and the cost of care and treatment is only expected to rise in the future. According to the National Institute on Aging, nearly half of its annual budget is spent on research into this awful condition; there are currently hundreds of substances being tested for treatments around the world.

One of the few factors that you can change to alter your risk of developing dementia is to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Some researchers into the disease have found that patients who are happy and healthy with Alzheimer’s, slow down the rate of their mental decline. Fortunately this disease is still mainly affecting people over the age of 60; incidents of younger victims contracting the condition do occur, although these are rare.

Make Your Credit Card Debt Affordable

Credit card debt is a growing national problem. Companies are reporting that over 50 percent of credit card accounts are 90 days or more past due. Many Americans are finding they have overextended spending with credit cards and struggling to reduce the debt. Credit card consolidation programs provide a mean of resolving the debt in a more affordable manner.

The goals of credit consolidation programs are to combine the credit card debts and generate one affordable monthly payment. In most cases, this debt can be paid off in just a few years (about 3-6 years in most cases). Consolidation often qualifies for lower interest rates based on the amount of the combined debt.

Research options available will ensure that the new loan will not cost much or more than the individual loan payments combined. There are non-reputable companies that avoid giving the best rates. It is important to know your options before making a decision. Avoid signing any documentation during emotional moments. Calculate the current payments makes for ease in comparing proposed consolidation payment amounts and allow you to determine which offers the best option.

Once a consolidation loan program has been chosen, it is important that monthly payments are made as scheduled. One payment will be made on the consolidation loan program and the provider of the consolidation will pay the creditors on your behalf.

To not to send in your payment as promised is to put your status in jeopardy once again and the creditors may resume their collection activities or raise your interest rate because you have not maintained your end of the bargain. By staying in touch with your credit counselor (or “consolidation specialist”) and keeping them abreast of any situations or changes, you can most likely avoid having your account turned over for collections.

While it is the consolidation program which will make the loan payments, reviewing monthly statements for accuracy is your responsibility. A reduced interest rate should be reflected in the statements and the account should no longer accrue late fees or other charges. If there are inaccuracies and incorrect payment amounts, contact the assigned counselor so these issues can be addressed. This will ensure that the company is paying creditors the correct amount and avoid future problems.

There are quite a few different debt consolidation loans, and the right one for you will depend on your specific situation. Some loans have a higher monthly payment for a short period of time while others offer a lower payment spread out over several years. Let common sense prevail here and look for the loan with a monthly payment you can afford.

Some loans will have a fixed interest rate and will not allow you to make extra payments over time. If at all possible, find a loan consolidation program that will allow you to pay more when you can!

How to Get the Best Mortgage Rate When Refinancing

April 2, 2008 on 5:03 am | In Finance | No Comments
by Louie Latour

If you are in the process of refinancing your home mortgage loan, finding the best lender and the lowest refinancing mortgage rate can be an intimidating process. Did you know that the rate quotes you receive when shopping for a new loan all include commission based markup? Homeowners who learn to recognize this unnecessary markup of their mortgage rate can save thousands of dollars on their mortgage every year. Here are several tips to help you get the best refinancing mortgage rate for your next home loan.

How is Your Mortgage Rate Marked Up?

You may be required to pay an origination fee to the company or mortgage broker that arranges your new home loan. The lender that approves your loan also pays a fee to this company or broker for closing your mortgage with higher than market interest rates. This fee paid to the broker for overcharging you is called Yield Spread Premium; homeowners who learn how to avoid Yield Spread Premium can save thousands of dollars every year by taking advantage of wholesale rates.

Yield Spread Premium And Your Mortgage

To illustrate the commission based markup known as Yield Spread Premium here is one example. You need to borrow $250,000 to refinance your existing home loan and the broker agrees to charge you a one percent fee. You close with a 6.75% mortgage rate and pay $2,500 to the broker for loan origination. What you don’t know is that the lender actually approved you at 6.0% and the broker marked it up for the commission. In this example the lender pays your broker a $7500 bonus for overcharging you on top of the $2,500 you’ll pay at closing.

How Yield Spread Premium Affects Your Mortgage Payment

You might say .75 percent isn’t that much, what’s the big deal? In the previous example if you refinance with the 6.0 percent rate that you deserve your monthly payment on a 30 year mortgage would be $1,498 per month. If you agree to a 6.75 percent mortgage rate your monthly payment balloons to $1,621 per month! That’s $1,476 you’ll pay unnecessarily every year because your mortgage broker lied to you.

Yield Spread Premium Can Be Avoided

Homeowners who learn to recognize this commission based markup of their mortgage rates can refinance with a wholesale mortgage rate and save thousands of dollars in finance charges. It is possible to refinance your home with a wholesale rate and only pay one percent to the broker. You can learn more about doing this yourself without paying lender junk fees.
