What’s The Difference Between Home And Business Appliances?
January 18, 2008 on 4:20 am | In Home Accessories | No CommentsHomes and businesses can have very different requirements when it comes to choosing appliances. Clearly, if your business is home-based, your appliance needs are equivalent to that of a residential home. Likewise, if you are running a large manufacturing company your needs are going to be different. Even so, home appliances and business appliances are basically the same.
As the needs of all homes are pretty much the same, they all have the same basic appliances. Businesses, on the other hand can be very different, and have very different requirements. There are five basic, regular home appliances. These are the washer and dryer, stove, refrigerator and dishwasher. Other, smaller home appliances can include a microwave, coffee maker, kettle, toaster, blender, mixer, food processor, extra ranges and more.
Businesses rarely have as many appliances as homes do, although, some businesses can require the same appliances only in more heavy-duty models. For example, in your home, the coffee maker is usually only turned on and run once I n the morning. In a fair sized business, the coffee maker could be used five or ten times a day, or more for a larger business! When shopping for your home, you would probably buy a regular 12 cup coffee maker, but when shopping for a large business you would probably want to find something more durable and large in proportion to the amount of people that will be using it.
A lot of businesses, including smaller ones have a kitchen in which there is usually a microwave, small fridge and a kettle. These are the same appliances that you would typically find in a home. The larger businesses may have a more full-sized kitchen with a stove and regular fridge. Businesses like manufacturing companies and factories are the ones that have the heavy duty appliances. Some of these appliances include very large freezers and refrigerators. Some factories like to provide frozen treats for their employees in the summer because of the lack of air conditioning, and as such, they need a much more heavy-duty freezer than a home would typically have. The fridges in these factories would also be much larger in order to house all of the lunches. Some homes with bigger families can have a large fridge, but not usually as large as the factory fridges.
Another difference between home and business appliances is that appliance manufacturers will sometimes make the business appliances have a higher wattage than the appliances meant for homes. The reason for this is because business appliances are used a lot more often and in a larger capacity than appliances in the setting of a home.
So, there is not much difference between home and business appliances. There only needs to be a difference if the business is large and has a lot of employees. Also, both of these types of appliances are bought at the same stores. It is very hard to find a store that only sells business appliances.
Hoodia And Phentermine-don’t Play Russian Roulette
January 18, 2008 on 4:10 am | In Family | No Comments*Appetite Suppressant Pills - Are You Gambling with Them?*
How would you like to play a long game of Russian roulette? You know how it’s played. In our little game we will just put 2 bullets in the gun, one a harmless blank and the other a leaded bullet, ready to do it’s damage. Then we will spin the chamber, point it to our nose, and pull the trigger until it fires.
Now doesn’t that sound fun. Now would anybody with a smidgen of smarts want to play this game? No they wouldn’t, however, millions of intelligent people play this game with their diet pill choices.
These people buy diet pills (appetite suppressants) without even knowing what’s, well, in the chamber. The results of this game of chance can be very explosive.
*Phentermine the Virtual Bullet*
Wikipedia gives this definition of phentermine:
“It is approved as an appetite suppressant to help reduce weight in obese patients when used short-term and combined with exercise, diet, and behavioral modification. It is typically prescribed for individuals who are at increased medical risk because of their weight and works by helping to release certain chemicals in the brain that control appetite.”
It was first sold under the name of Fastin. Then, it was removed from the market (in 1998), after problems started showing up in those using it.
Well, the pharmaceutical companies don’t give up any too easythey are currently selling it as a Adipex-P, Ionamin, and a generic. The most recent “shame-of-a-company” has combined phentermine with fenfluramine or dexfenfluramine, which is now known as Fen-Phen.
Then problems started showing up. In 1997, after 24 cases of heart valve disease in Fen-Phen users, fenfluramine and dexfenfluramine were removed from the market at the request of the FDA. Later, studies proved that 30% of those taking fenfluramine or dexfenfluramine had abnormal valve problems.
I just can’t understand why this stuff (phentermine) was left on the market by the FDA$. Oops, pardon the faulty punctuation.
*Now Let’s Take a Look at Hoodia*
This appetite suppressant does not cause any problems with people’s heart rate, mental state, blood pressure…or anything else. The San People, who live in Southern Africa, have used it for thousands of years to hold off hunger in times when there was little or no food available without any side effects. It simply and safely fools the body into thinking that it’s already had enough food.
Now, when it comes to comparing hoodia and phentermine, there really is no comparison. So what shall you do if you want to use an appetitte suppressant? Simply put, be wise in your choices. And please do not forget, for maximum effect and health, be sure to exercise and eat right.
Hypnosis At Home
January 18, 2008 on 3:29 am | In Family | No CommentsA hypnotic state can be achieved many different ways. Simply watching TV or driving can be considered a hypnotic state. However it becomes difficult to produce this state on command. Learning to slip into this state on your own takes time, training and practice. There are many products online which offer to teach you hypnosis, however you may find it best to have a few sessions before purchasing costly materials.
Learning about your body and reaction is critical to learning hypnosis. Each of us will react differently to the state and you should be prepared for what to expect. This is one reason why a private session is recommended first. Some people feel “tingly” or like they are floating while under hypnosis. The mind may feel numb or blank while you are under. Others might not feel these things what so ever. For first timers who have not been hypnotized, you might be unsure of what you are supposed to feel which can be intimidating.
Personal sessions also help you to experience how you work through your issues. Hypnosis can sometimes uncover issues which you were unaware you had and you may not know how to react to them. Not everyone reacts or has the same experiences which lead them to hypnosis. Some people may relive a tragic event in their past which lead them to gaining weight, while having a one on one session. This can be unnerving and scary if it happens at home and you are alone. If you have a one on one session, the hypnotist is able to help you work through the issue instead of dealing with it yourself.
Ultimately we all want the same thingprogress. A professional will provide a plan and a tracking method so you can see if the hypnosis is working or not working. The hypnotist can formulate a program and talk with you about your progress and if need be, change the plan. If you uncover something new you want to work on, your hypnotist can work that into your plan as well. Progressing in treatment is important, if you are not seeing progress, it becomes more difficult to stay with the program.
By using both online products and individual session you can increase your progress. The CD’s DVD’s can help you learn to put yourself in a hypnotic state quickly while you are at home. This will make it easier once you start your individual session. You will also understand how it feels to be hypnotized and how your mind reacts. Once you are at your one on one session you will not be nervous about being put under making the session more useful. For the time between sessions the CD’s help clients to continue practicing and help them to maintain their progress.
Some might feel the private sessions are a waste of time and money since there are products online. While it may be true, online products are cheaper, however private sessions are invaluable for advancement and achieving results quickly. Private sessions are tailor made for each your individual progress and personality.
Try it out you have nothing to lose. Talk with your hypnotist about the CD’s or DVD’s you found online. Try a private session and see how you feel afterwards. There are many different ways of being hypnotized and the best way all depends on you. So do your research but think about the importance of a personalized session before making the decision to not try it at all. The choice is yours, but don’t short yourself.

Power Metaphors For Persuasion
January 18, 2008 on 3:29 am | In Finance | No CommentsWhile the concept of ‘energy’ may seem new-agey, I personally find it integral to the understanding of self, which is the first step in understanding persuasion.
Recently I taught a seminar in Tucson and focused almost exclusively on core drives. I absolutely believe that when we understand core drives we can put our fingers right on our prospect’s and client’s triggers, triggers which are universal.
The Ancient Indian concept of Chakras are definitely considered ‘woo woo’ by a great many people, but are an excellent metaphor, if nothing else, for the core values and drive within each of us. Chakras are energy vortices along the body, each corresponding to a need.
No matter what our spiritual or religious affiliation is, these energy centers are intrinsically involved with the idea of self mastery which, I wholeheartedly believe, is interrelated with persuasion. As persuaders, we have the ability to pick and choose from the abundance of life. We can take what works, and leave what doesn’t on all levels–spiritual, economic, political, popular culture, in business. . .anything at all. We take what is valuable and form our worlds from what we’ve gathered.
I also have a personal belief that there’s a certain reality to the different kinds of energy flows in our bodies. Chinese medicine practitioners would refer to that as Qi (pronounced Chi) and they can trace those energetic flows throughout our bodies in energy rivers called meridians. Meridians control different things in our body, corresponding to different organs, and to the extent that we have some awareness of this, we can use it to help ourselves. So call it DNA or Qi or Chakras or meridians. . . it’s all power.
In that spirit, how can we absorb value from chakras, as one of my students suggested, even simply as a metaphor?
Here’s a brief rundown of how the chakras correspond to our core drives. One, the base, is related to security and has similarities to our fight/flight mechanism. The second chakra is concerned with sexuality related to the fourth core value of reproducing ourselves. The third chakra is about power and is similar to the third core value of fight.
When we get higher in the chakras we get higher in Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs. Abraham Maslow was an American psychologist in the mid 1900s. He created his Hierarchy of Needs in the form of a pyramid. If the baser needs are not met, then we don’t advance well to the higher needs. If we don’t breathe, sleep, eat or drink water, we’re not going to require self-actualization such as spontaneity, creativity, morality. . .why? Well, because if we don’t eat, breathe, sleep or drink water, we’re not alive.
At the bottom of the pyramid are two of the four core values in addition to biological functions. The physiological basis for physical human existence-food, water, air, sleep, sex, excretion and homeostasis (internal balance)-has extreme power where persuasion is concerned. Obviously, we’re not really able to utilize air or sleep (unless you’re selling mattresses) or excretion or homeostasis (unless you’re a doctor). The next level up for Maslow pertains to security-the fight and flight core values-and also corresponds to the third chakra of power.
For our purposes, there are needs that are represented at the very top of the pyramid that can be used in persuasion as well. . . we all need to be needed. We need to have hope. We need to believe that the problems we have are from an external source. We need to be right. These all give people a sense of power and fit in with the chakra system.
Through the elicitation of criteria and rapport gaining, we can correctly and thorougly tap into these needs. When you create rapport with your prospects and clients, they feel noticed, necessary, listened to, and with that we can get to the real core of safety, security, sustenance and reproduction.
